I think I can live with that when I think about driving the car at even 50 mph with the hood suddenly popped open that I can not see what's going on in front of me or get smashed by the car from behind if I brake too hard. Scary thoughts. Those cheap 3 piece hood pins are pretty cheesy looking but I think the Sparco ones look pretty nice and they might just save my life some day. Just one more "uncool" thing you have to live with drivng a fast car I guess. Besides that, I don't want to read about some bad news on the forum because the hood popped open when they were driving. 2 rx-7 owners that I know died driving the rx-7 due to accidents in the past 6 years. I don't need any of that anymore. Let's minimize the chance of that happening if we know for a fact that the stock latch catch is really a POS. I am not saying from now on, everyone should get hood pins but at least check your stock latch catch regularly to make sure the spot welds are not broken off or weakening.

I'm not really a big fan of either the Scoot Hood or the C-West frontend, but to combination of them together on the blue 7 is just incredible. It's got to be one of the best FD's I've ever seen.
Thanks guys.

I have the feed type 2 bumper on my car and which hood should i get odula hood, scoot hood or the mazdaspeed r-spec hood.I like the mazdaspeed hood but all the ricers have it on there civics around here.I want something different.
I don't understand why the stock hood never needs pins but all the aftermarket hoods recommend them. If the latch is so bad how come no one gets pins for the stock hood? And if its so dangerous why haven't I heard of any problems with the stock hood? I never see my stock hood flap up and down at speed and I'm sure if there was a problem Mazda would have recalled it (as they did the MS vented hood). Is it because you are breaking off the stock latch and reattaching it to the new hood that presents the problem?

This one is a carbon fiber one but since it's on a black car. it's pretty damn close as painted. If you realize that it has a Japanese license plate, yup, I finally sold one to Japan!

Nope, not at this time but I think he will send me more. He is turning his car to a show car so he might send me some car show pix later.

The center air duct goes to the vents on the back of the hood for cooling down the downpipe. If you don't like the center duct, you should consider the RE Amemiya AD hood 9 as seen here:

The price is $1550 for the carbon fiber one and $1150 for the fiberglass one.

I really don't like the center air duct..it might be functional but it's not very appealing to me...
But this hood...wow...it looks awesome..very smooth and flowing.

I'll be running this hood and the Feed front end setup on my '93 shortly and I believe I finally decided on the NSX yellow for paint. I was gonna go CYM, but it's just too bright. Either way, the Scoot hood and Feed front end are the way to go in my eyes. All of these FD's with that hood are incredible looking though. Glad to see this thread.
