Question anyone with electrical advice please...

hey peeps, anyone with electrical/wiring knowledge please help me...

just got new windows switches for my 89 non-turb vert;

(haven't had switches since acquiring the car, used to use a teeny-tiny flat-head to push the little thingy up or down to operate the window til it sparked and scared the isht outta me then i stopped using the flathead & ordered switches on ebay)

anyways i hooked them up and nothing; so i got a little light tester thing to see where i did have power (on the door) and found power to my doorlocks, door-panel lights, and well thats about it.

if i shorted out the line for the windows or whatever,
how do i get power back in that wire? do i dare run a new line from my battery err... myself?

i put an amp in my trunk aboout 6 months ago
(yes, it works!) for my little system so i'm not totally ignorant re: wiring, but i dont have a clue how to make the windows work.
anyone with electrical advice please...anyone with electrical advice please... anyone with electrical advice please...

if you sparked the thing there should be a bad fuse, did you pull the fuse and change it or just look at it?

Yeah, sounds like you blew a fuse. There's usually a separate fuse for the power windows. Then there's that off chance that the switch you bought is bad.

take the switch apart then clean the contacts with a eraser and rubbing acholol. then check all the wiring and see if you can notice any loose ones. Hope this helps.
