Anybody tried this Feed Bumper?

I'd like to get a feed bumper soon and this one cought my eye... I know it's on ebay and it's a replica and stuff, but I can't afford a 600$ one...

It looks like it's made out of Flexifiber fiberglass so i don't know if anybody tried it... My only question is how was the fitment...

if you can't afford a $600 bumper, how can you afford to get it painted or mounted properly (there's gonna be work needed on almost any knock-off and often on the real things)?

no offense, i'm just asking.

I put one on in July. Fitment is not any worse than the Rotary extreme one that I put on over the winter, And wrecked in May. No offense to RE, it fit ok, not perfect. You will have to do some spot putty on places where the mold did'nt release properly. The area where it bolts to the fenders is not wide enough to make the job easy, but it was'nt much better on the RE replica. RE bumper is a little thicker than this one but it is'nt worth $500 more, IMO

$145 for a bumper - you are going to get what you pay for. That probibly has a better chance of fitting a Civic than your FD.

I might be cheeper if you paid $500 for a higher quality one, rather than spending $145 for the cheep knock off and then paying the body shop $75hr for 5-6hrs of bondo work + plus mounting + painting. Thats just my opponion.

i say get it i have put a few ebay body kits on for my friends and they fit just as good as the rest of the body kits out there . just because its not 500 bucks doesnt mean its any worse as with any kit your gonna have to do some work to make it right . if you want perfect fittment by an oem im so sick of reading these post and everyone saying ebay parts are crap . you dont always get what you pay for alot of times the cheaper stuff is just as good as the name brand stuff

Well, i have 600 bucks, but i'd be crazy if i spent it all on just a bumper... The way i see it, i want to pay around 500 total.. bumper, shipping, painting...

Not all knock-offs are bad... I think the stupid old veilside kits have given a bad name for all of them.

Does anyone have any pics of them installed though?

Thanks

I'd rather pay the 500-600 bucks up front for a bumper I know isn't a crapshoot than end up with a 500-600 dollar body-worked-up bumper to make it work on the car. My bodywork is all Rotary Extreme, I glazed it, sanded it, had my body man paint it and was done with it. It all bolted on with no modifications and I've seen a lot of aftermarket body work, and there isn't much out there that I felt was any better. Side skirts are always a good example, i slid them on the car and they stuck on it like they were fully installed out of the box.

All it takes is some bondo and some hard work. If you'd rather invest your time and sweat to make a $145 body kit work well, then go for it.

My friend Tom does the bodywork for his formula and spec racer schools...it can be done, just takes effort. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of personal time...you don't have to spend an azzload of money, and you can actually learn something.

I've had the 500 dollar feed one. It fit like ****, I had to work and work and work the damn thing over to get it to fit right, I finally got it to sit right, but it didnt last one month before the bottom split up and broke because my car is lowered. Not the bumper's fault, but dayum.

i'm not trying to be rude, i just don't see being able to get a decent paint job, the requisite amount of body work to fit the bumper correctly and the bumper for $600. i dunno though, maybe costs are different by locality or perhaps i'm just completely off-base.

good luck in whatever you decide to do... but it doesn't seem like anyone else has been willing to go out on a ledge and give this a try yet. if you do get it, please follow-up

i say do it. i have alot of friends that buy the high dollar crap and it is usually just that...crap (considering the money they spent). like some others said try to do the work yourself and you will save cash, learn something and have alot more pride in it after you see what you have accomplished. plus if you crack a $600 bumper on the road you will be sick but if you crack a $165 (shipped) bumper you can still go buy 2 more for the same price screw what people say most of them would not know the difference after its installed anyway.

I put about 4 hours of bodywork and paint into mine and it looks every bit as good as the RE replica. By the way, I had to put in about 3 hours on the RE replica to fit it. Niether of them was as simple as bolt-up. I paid $200 total including shipping for the Allstar kit. I paid $750 for the RE bumper. I'll take 3 of the allstars and keep 2 for spares.

FYI there are some quality, cheap body kits out there. A lot of vendors are replicating originals and outsourcing the work to china where they basically just pay for materials. Just look at punksterz626 group buy. I'm not sure if ShineAutoProjects also outsources their work to China, or replicates it themselves.

However, in most cases you can't beat the quality and fit of an original.
