Question anybody installed audi tt cap on fd?

i am finally about to put the audi tt cap onto my fd but one question. it looks like the fitments perfect but how do you bolt on the audi tt cap?? i saw a pic from fira XXX but doesn't show how he bolted on. there's only one spare hole but i don't think that one hole with one screw will hold up the cap since it's kinda heavy. also do you cut off the plastic thingy from factroy gas lid and glue it onto the audi tt gas cap to make it close and open from driver side???? any suggetions would help!!! or anybode have an e-mail address for firas arabo??

only people I know that currently have them on are ...
1. Firas Arabo ...not on the forum or biglist very often
2. Gordon Monson... forum and biglist member goes by gmonson here.

I currently have the audiTT cap sitting in the garage...it's not a straight forward install...let me tell you that.. and beside the cap cost ~$400 from a audi dealer...

try, "copy" then post directly on to your post reply. if files too large, do it one by one even tho it takes lil' longer

Question Chrome gas cover

I like the look of AA rotaries cover. I was just going to take off mine and get it chromed, but it is plastic. Is there a cover out there that we could use that fits an FD and is metal?

I got mine from the audi dealer for $270. My friend works at the body shop and bought it through the shop(shop discount). After the installation, it looks like OEM and even better then ones from sparco. you also need to cut off the bracket from the factory lid then dondo it onto the tt cap but it's not hard at all. If you know anybody works at the body shop, you can get it for around $250-$270 for store discount. wish i can post the pic but no digital camera yet

any pics of the cap? i mean $270+ is a lot to pay for a gas cap, so it must look ****** awsome and oem for you to do it...right?

Hell to get a new OEM door from the dealer you'll spend around $160 so it really isn't that much more to go with the TT replacement if you can get it for about $100 more. Just depends on how you want to spend your money.

The new Hyundai Tiburon also has a motorcycle=style cap. Wonder if a) the curve matches and b) cost significantly less than the Audi TT's.

yeah but the hyundai's quality is prolly poopie. and it would prolly look cheesy on a FD. the audi tt cap is pushing the good looks in my mind... any odder looking and it would look like ****. just my 2

It's just a gas cap, silly rabbit. I'd doubt the quality would be that inferior...if you think Audi makes "superior" products, think again. My A4 is just a well appointed VW.

I don't even think you've seen the new Tiburon gas cap...sounds like you're shooting from the hip based solely on the Hyundai name (btw, is a huge Korean conglomerate like Mitsubishi Industries).

no i don't really think audi makes "superior" things.. but i think they make a lot better products then hyundai. but yeah isn't porsh owned by vw? or vice versa well anyways my point is that i've seen the tiburon's gas cap and i just don't like the idea of having one on a rex. it's kinda like having a mitsu eclipse (3rd gen, supra style) spoiler... maybe it's just me. i'm not to wild about the idea of the audi tt's gas cap but hey if it makes you diffrent then go ahead. again any picture of what it looks like mounted on a FD, i know somebody said they would post some pics.
just my 2
