its panasonic's in-dash GPS system and its something that ive been drooling over since it came out. problem is Best Buy says that it wont fit. any tips from the custom gurus?

i know about the model with the retractable screen, but theres a certain look that im going for.

Bullshit. It is a standard double din opening. It will fit. Even if it was tight you can modify it slightly. I used this tactic to place an 8 inch TFT screen in the double din opening. Why did they say it would not fit?

because it's Best Buy. They will tell you anything to avoid installations that may take a little extra time/ sell you something more expensive.

makes sense. thanks for the input fellas.

i thought we (FDs) had the double din opening... and i was prepared for alittle cutting action but when i saw the best buy site and it plainly said "will not fit" i got concerned.

See if you can find out the depth of it. This also might be a reason it wont fit. If it is just a screen, I can't see that being a problem though.

I don't know about you FD guys, but in my FC, I've got about 12" behind the opening. I believe that model is only 6 or 7 inches deep.

not sure if the FD has 12" worth of space, but its certainly no less than 7". most decks arent much more than 6 (guessing from the deck that i have now) or so, so i should be good in that respect.

Ive put one in an fd, im an authorize pioneer and premier dealer, it will fit. Also my price is $1350 on that unit brand new with warranty.
