Metal buffing question
Heres my question, I've done some buffing on my piping and intakes and stuff, and i was wondering because i saw this stuff http://www.eastwood.com/shopping/pro...iProductID=415 and I was wondering if this could be a good thing to avoid water stains on the piping and stuff?? what do you guys think about metal clear?

I've never used that PARTICULAR clear before in that application but my experience tells me this....
-all of those types of "pure protection" style clears DO dull the surface a little...ie. it'll never be as shiny as when its straight up polished....
-despite the fact that they say bare metal clear, you are applying it to surface that has been near mirror polished, WTF is going to stick to that? nothing...not for long that is...
-ESPECIALLY factor in the adhesion problem and add to that under hood temps.
now...think about this...the amount of time it'll take to apply all of that and do a decent job will be fairly large...6 months from now when it starts peeling off and looking like horride ****, itll take 5 times that amount of work to get it off and repolish everything....
IMHO...buy a tube/can of autosol and use as needed for meets, show and shines etc.....leave the polished stuff bare naked....
but to each his own
