Any suggestions on a chrome wheel cleaner?

I have a set of 3 piece chrome Work Rezak wheels, and they take me longer to clean than my entire car. I currently use mother's chrome wheel cleaner, but it takes to long to apply and does not get rid of all the brake dust. Last year I had one of my wheel repaired and when I received it, it looked brand knew. I've tried everything, even steam cleaning, and I could never get it that clean. When I asked what they used, they said it was commercial stuff and very expensive. Can any one suggest a product such as this and offer another product that can create a barrier to protect the wheel from brake dust?

Wash 'em with Dawn dishwashing liquid and water, dry, then try Simichrome Polish. It is REALLY expensive - about $25.00 for a small 8.8 oz. tin, but you only need a little dab to clean any smooth metal surface, so it's cost effective and will be enough to keep you happy for a couple of years.
It leaves a protective wax after polishing, so the dust won't stick again. Buy it at ACE hardware and get the tin, not the tube. If they don't have the tin in stock they can order it for you.

I use a spray on chronme wheel cleaner I got when I bought my Chrome BBS wheels, I think it is called X-14 or something like that. I'll check when I get home. One thing that I found really helps with brake dust is once you get the wheels really clean, apply a thin coat of carnuba wax to them, and the dust comes off much easier next time! I also have low dust pads on all 4 wheels (Bonez high performance pads), so that helps as well. I got the wheels and cleaner from Sander Performance in NJ, 800-227-6965, talk to Lucille! Good luck
