Any bodyshop people in here??

What would normally be charged to cut in and weld in a new panel as shown in this pic? (Provided I have the replacement cut panel.) And yes, it is rusted pretty bad and has chewed up the metal.

I'd say more than that. That area has a lot of seams and everything needs to line up.

A lot,,, body shops are rip offs and kinda like buying drugs. You have your good stuff and your bad stuff, kinda hit or miss unless you know of a good body shop. For a shop to cut and and weld in a new panel, then seal it, blend it, prep it, paint it, i would say around $1000. Ive been doing bodywork for 3 years now and have been to a few bodyshops and know what they charge roughly...

Also, it looks like its around a window or window trim, which means removal of the window and trim, then reinastall after new panel is welded in, resulting in, more money....

Ahh...thanks for the info guys. Yeah, I'm going to remove everything anyways and don't need a repaint blend since the whole car will get a new paint job. (windows and seals removed too.)

I think I'll maybe keep this shell though. Its super straight for a '79 (practically no dings) with the exception of that rust area.
