Exclamation Antenna stays up when cd player is turned on

I've tried searching but I can't seem to find the right answer. I've got a FD, just installed a new pioneer head unit and the antenna goes up when I turn the radio on but it stays up when I use the cd player or iPod. If the head unit is off the antenna doesn't go up. I think I have constant power to the antenna. All I did was hook the remote wire from the head unit to the antenna power green / orange wire (I think). I want the antenna to come out only when the radio is being used...

Or can someone tell me what wire needs to be hooked up for it to work when the radio is only being played?

The head unit probably has 2 switched outputs, one for the power antenna and one for remote turn-on (for the amps). On my Pioeer the antenna lead is blue and the remote turn-on is blue/white. Sounds like your antenna is connected to the remote turn-on.

It's a pioneer avh 4200dvd. It only has a blue antenna wire. Do I have to wire a switch to make the antenna go up and down?

I looked up the manual and it does only have one turn-on wire. Weird. So if you want your antenna up in tuner mode only you will have to wire a switch to cut power to the antenna relay but not the amps, if you're using any.
