Question Antenna adapter

Hi all,

this is my first post....

i recently picked up a '95 base FD, and I'm trying to install the Pioneer DEH-P9200 head unit in there from my old car.

I've got the CD player working, but not sure how to connect the antenna up to get a radio signal tho.....is there an adapter i can get at radio shack or something?

Thanks in advance!

well, the head unit antenna input is a female plug....looks like it woud accept one of these:

the only plugs i see in the car.....one's a female for 3 pins (it's small like a plug you'd see on a computer board), and the other is slightly larger female plug for 3 pins and a slot.

they kinda look like:

___
. . . and . . .

does that describe it any bettter?

Sure thats the antenna adapters? Does yours have a windshiled antenna also, I'm going to the car place tomorrow and I'll see what they have.

rado shack should have what your looking for. THere should be two antenna cables coming out fromt he car, one is for the antenna in the rear window and the other os for the motorized antenna. Get an adapter from radio shack and hook up the head unit to the motorized natenna. just leave the other one.

Get a antenna y-adaptor and a female to male adapter, should be about $10.

Is there any loss of reception if you leave the in-glass antenna disconnected since no one seems to make an adapter for it?

The setup is called a diversity antenna. The factory radio selected signal from whichever of the two antennas provided the strongest signal at a given time. The amplified glass antenna rarely ever picks up any better reception than main antenna, you have no worries not connecting it. Besides, who really listens to radio anyway?
