Aftermarket seats for FD3S

I heard that many after seats are too wide for the FD and don't allow the doors to close easily...do you guys know of any race seats that fit well? Anyone use race/aftermarket seats? How are they?

P.S. I'm looking for something like the recaro SPG (the one on the left) that will fit the FD 'no problemo'

I know that www.leatherseats.com makes replacements for the FD that fit well, but they couldn't be considered "race seats." But they are nice looking and the price is right. You should check them out and see if you like what they have to offer. Hope that helps. Laterz.

Correct, very few seats fit in the FD.

All of the regular width Momo "shell" seats will fit [1000 Lakes, Pro, Nascar, etc.) The some of the wide Momo and and other brands won't fit.

The Sparco narrow seats fit fine. The two Sparco models that are wider, The 839 and another one I can't remember, seem to not fit now (after a mold change a couple of years ago)

I have a Sparco 839 America and when it arrived, it didn't fit. I had to carefully place it and modify the console and door panel to make it fit.

The fit problem is in two areas. The width of the rear floor is a lot smaller than most cars. I believe it is approx 8 inches narrower than my CRX. Also, the shoulder area is much narrower than most cars. Consequently, the door won't shut with most seats.

Most if not all of the BRIDE seats will fit in the RX-7 also.

I'll be throwing a Bride Zeta III type-L in mine with a type-FG seat rail. I'll be posting some photos and details on how the seat (and I) fit in about a month or so. Sorry if it doesn't help now.

Darn right! Over 8 years! I never pay attention to post dates...It's my curse. Still, I stumble across this seat issue across the web over and over so I figure why not my coming experiences out there? Isn't that why this forum is here?

Yes, the forum is here to help but there is also a reason why they put the search button, here is a thread that has been on-going about aftermarket seats...

Enjoy some reading

...and roger. It would seem everyone assumes no one else uses the search button properly. Perhaps I simply have a soft spot for nostalgia? Anyways, thanks for the other thread.

Scrubby McBubbles has some Bride seats in his FD.... think the vios. I'm a waist 34, and I really don't fit. I think I heard my hip crack once when I shoe-horned my *** into the passenger seat

I'm a 32 and I fit snug in bride seats. I think I'm gonna end up with a set of Corbeaus for my FD...I fit better in em.
