Which Aftermarket Gauges Match The Factory Gauges Best?
Pretty much what the title says.
I'm planning on going with the 3-gauge center dash-pod from FlyBy7 or whatever, and I want to go with gauges that best-match the factory gauge coloring.
It's been a while since I've seen threads on this topic, so I just thought I'd perhaps make a new thread that talks about it.
Thanks guys,
Mike

I remember when you first made that thread about the SpeedHut gauges..I see my posts, haha
Those definitely do still look the best.
I'll probably go all Speedhut with no pod gauges at all.
Fuel, Boost, Water Temp, Tach, Speedo.
Now that my FD is looking like it's actually going to be running and driving pretty soon, I'm basically piecing together all of the things I've always wanted, the SpeedHut gauge conversion being one of them.
Are you a marine, Rick? I noticed a pic you posted wearing cami's.
I just got out of the Navy at the end of June. I'm back in Georgia now.

I didn't think about that the steering column gauge....looks factory-ish enough.
Maybe I'll go a boost gauge there, and then keep the same type of gauges in the dash: fuel, water temp, oil pressure, etc.
I'm not sure (yet) if with the 2JZ if it'll be necessary to really have anything beyond the standard gauges other than maybe an oil-pressure gauge.
Ah crap, I forgot about the wideband gauge though... Shoot, where should I put THAT? lol
I'm going for an "improved factory" look. I don't want A-pillar gauges and crazy stuff anymore.
I think the most I will consider is a dual-pod center dash gauge, that FlyByRX7 one or whatever.

What are you using to control fuel? Just asking because most aftermarket computers can also display things like AFR and injector duty, etc. You might not need to clutter up your interior at all! That racepak haltech dash is pretty damn nice.
I use my PFC to monitor pretty much everything, plus a 2 gauge fly pod for mechanical water temp and boost gauges just to be safe.
As for the original question, Those speedhut gauges look spot-on.
EDIT: Nice n simple.

I actually ended up purchasing a Prosport triple gauge pod.
The only thing I don't like is that each of the pods have a very "individualized" look, rather than looking one they are one unit with 3 holes, ya know?
It's the same with the FlyRX7 gauges too. I guess I should have known better.
Reference:
The look I would prefer:
I like how they look more molded together...looks more factory.
Maybe I should have just gone that route, with the double.
For now I'll just try the triple gauge setup though.
I'm going to go with Defi Red Racer gauges:
So I have the three gauges...Boost, Water Temp, and the AEM UEGO Wideband.
Which order should I put them in from left to right, hmmm.... Boost, temp, AFR?....

I ended up ordering the Defi Red Racer gauges. They're in the mail as we speak. Used my Chase reward points towards them. lol...it basically paid for ONE of them, so I can't complain too much about the price. lol
I've got a the Nardi-style "flying M" steering wheel going in the car too, so it should all look pretty good.
I'll post pics in a few weeks or so, whenever the shop gets everything installed. I'll be dropping everything off probably mid next week, after the Defi gauges come in the mail.
