Aftermarket Amp w/ factory Wiring Harness

I want to install an aftermarket amp but still use the factory wires for the speakers. Can anyone explain how I can do this without cutting up the wire harnesses?
I have a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X469 and the wiring adapter from crutchfield.

Couldn't you jsut grab and extra wiring harness, splice the wires for the amp into those, then plug that harness into the factory one coming off the car?

I dont see why that wouldn't work.
