99' spec front w/o licence plate mount

Does anyone know if someone manufactures something like this. I love the clean look of the 99' but hate that front licence plate mount and shaving it would be alot of work and probably not turn out as good as somethign molded w/o the mount. I know SCC did this for their project RX-7 and it looked amazing but im just looking around weighing some options. thanks

I have a question n this, can people please advise:

The 99 spec is urethane I believe (?) and the pettit is fiberglass. I like the pettit because of no license plate but won't that fiberglass be a bitch to maintain and have the possibility to break easily?

Isn't one good thing about the true 99 spec is it is not fiberglass and is more durable? Also, anyone familiar with the fit of pettit's??

Sorry for so many questions. And I am not trying to take the cheap way out, just wondering if I want the license plate holder in or not. If the Pettit is great quality then I might go that route to eliminate the LP holder.

There are some pics on sportcompactcarweb.com in the project cars section of a black FD with the shaved stock plate holder. (sorry id post pics but i have no clue how to and dont wanna get flamed back to hell for experimenting haha) Looks good but kinda needs a mazda symbol up front.

If I remember correctly, he had the bodyshop cut the section with the plate holder out and replace it with a chunk of urethane from the 93 spec bumper.

buy the fiberglass. it will cost way to much to have the plate removed. On top of that, if the car is in the sun too long, it will fade; most of the time it does.

I own the Pettit 99 front end. I too had questions concerning using a fiberglass front end but ultimately went with Pettit's because I just don't like the plate holder.

Have had mine for several months. The fit is perfect and have had no probelms at all. I've received many compliements on the front end. Advice - add the fog lights to the front. They really look killer. No need to buy the $399 version from Mazdaspeed though. PIAA sells a set for much less that is the same size.

Hope this helps.
