'99 J-Spec Tail Lights

I'm not sure if anyone has thought of this, but rather than spending $500 for a complete set and rather than masking the original lenses and painting them, couldn't you order just the J-Spec lenses (red and amber) and swap the originals? There are part numbers for the 93-95 red and amber lenses, should there be part numbers for the 99 lenses? Any of the overseas members care to provide the correct part numbers?

Hmm not a bad idea...
Still making your own is probably cheaper...

I'm not sure if the lenses themselves are covered, I believe there is a plastic piece covering them, but I'm not sure. I did my own 99spec tail lights, and it wasn't hard at all. Beats shipping time, and you have to open the lenses up anyway. Excluding the heat gun (which I needed to purchase anyway), I did everything for under $20.

Yeah, but you will have an exact set of J-Spec tail lights for far less than the actual cost.

How much do the lenses go for?

I don't know, but I'm sure it's far less than a complete set. Mazdatrix has US-Spec lenses for about $65 each, so I'm assuming the J-Specs can't be too much more.
