Question 99 front plate holder removal??

I just got the 99 front bumper and would like to have the license plate holder shaved off. Has anyone done this? I was inspecting the bumper and it looks like this would leave a hole that would need to be filled. I'm wondering if it could be made to look good and hold paint.

I know in one of the issue for sport compact car's project rx7 they did this conversion and had the plate holder shaved off and patch up with fiberglass check out their site.

I think any body shop can just shave it off. I know that they have some kind of material they use to repair urethane instead of bondo. Why don't you just leave the front plate piece there? I think it looks alright. You just need to find out where to get that black Rx7 front plate cover. Please post pics whatever you choose. Thanks.

While sorta on the subject, has anyone dealt with the Pettit 99 style w/o the plate holder made out of fiberglass?

I think it look hideous. If you have ever seen it in person, its just this big box sticking out of the bumper. The Pettit version is fiberglass, I don't want that. It will chip and crack. It also looks different.
