I guess its a matter of opinion, but the license plate holder to me looks like a box grafted onto the bumper. Mazda really should have integrated it better. Maybe something like the C5 Vettes have. How does it allow more air into the intercooler? I'm not putting a front plate on at all.

Doesn't www.rx7store.net carry fake copies w/out the license plate bracket? I don't know if they're fiberglass or not.

You can get copies, but they are fiberglass and they don't look right in my opinion. I'm much happier with how mine came out. More pics comming soon. Btw, Dave is awesome.

If you don't attach a front plate to the "unmolested" 99 front, there is 1 horizontal opening which will allow more air to hit the intercooler/radiator.

Guess what? I was talking to Chuck about the 99 Spec bumper without the plate holder. And would be made in Urethane!!! He would do it if some people would be interested. Hmm I smell group buy, what do you guys think?

I'd be in on that, or on the Feed II urethane bumper, if they ever do either one!

I'd be interested. The 99 Spec front is not just larger brake ducts that front is perfect for a FMIC.

I'm not sure how well the stock brake ducts fit, but I do have the 99 ones on order.

I hope it's soon! The Feed II urethane or fiberglass copy question seems to be delayed, and I don't want to invest the time & $$ that Ihor did with modifying an OEM front end (sure does look good though).

So Dan, just what are those secret details? Heh, heh

Count me in on a 99 urethane bumper. Rebar, combo light, front air damn, and brake ducts as a kit would be damn awesome.

Also, Pettit's looks a but different than the real 99. The ducts are shaped a bit differently and it just looks more boxy to me. I don't like it.
So do you recommend it for autoX???JK
