93 touring, taninterior, cheaps ways to change color?
like the topic says, i have the sexy tan interior,,,-heavy sarcasm. i hate tan. i want go black, and im sure as all you know it isnt too easy to find all the black parts to do this. ive heard of people reskinning the door skins, i dont know how well that works. ive heard of people spray painting them too. will the paint have a strong hold on it? or does it chip easily? i paint cars, so i know how to prep the panels for painting. what kind of paint should i use? or dont paint it, and do something else? same thing with the rear bins and other MISC. tan junk. hopefully someone has a good solution.
as for the seats, ill get those reupholstered in black. the carpetting i can get in black. any suggestions on the headliner and sun visors? hopefully i can get some good advice. thanks to all that respond and help me out.
last thing, my rear hatch is uneven on either side, one side is lower by like maybe a 1/4 inch, the other side is fine. any way to adjust that?? and one more last thing, i have the touring model and the sunroof is VERY VERY slow, i have to help it up and out, bad motor? car is a 93and has 93k on it.

you can see some pics of my car at
http://members.aol.com/zerobanger/rx7.jpg
You can get a sneek peak of my seats there. my car was a 94, so I only had the seats and carpet to worry about. I still painted my door panels, dash and bins black again, just to make them look new again.
For the seats I went to leatherseats.com, bought seat covers and installed them. You can search for my screen name and the term "Leatherseats.com".
You can also search for my screen name and "Duplicolor". To see my carpet and door panels, etc. I dyed my carpet which is very easy and in-expensive. It does require maintenance, though. After about 8 months I just found a good set of used carpet.
Good luck. BTW..going from Tan To Black on your door panels can work, the paint is very, very strong and flexible, but if you scrape it accidently with a sharp object it would probably damage it and show the Tan through.

But anyway, my interior looks NEW. Aside from the worn driver seat... But I have new covers coming...
I thought about swapping to black... But it seems like a pain in the ***.. At least finding the parts that don't take paint well...
