89 TII Audio Wire Harness?

I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to wiring harness stuff, but I can figure out the wiring. My question is, are there pretty much just universal wiring harnesses that work with all aftermarket head units, or are there specific ones for every application? Reason for my questioning is that the kid that owned the car before me has a really crappy wiring scheme going back behind the head unit, with lots of electrical tape and the works. When you get a wiring harness, do you just plug in one end and then plug into the head unit, or does the wiring harness just get it so you have the actual plug then you solder them in by yourself? In either case, where can I get a cheap one for my 89 TII?

your radio will come with one then you will buy the car one and join the two. best way to do this is to solder and heat shrink to cover it. as for where to get one, best buy, custom sounds, audio express, or http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Pez4CzB...=1&cc=01&avf=Y
