Guys,

I have been offered a NEW stock 6 CD double Din Mazda MPV stereo setup still sealed from Mazda and have been told that it would be a direct swap for my 89 Ragtop stereo including the wiring.

My question is has anyone ever taken a stock non Rx7 MAZDA unit and has been successful in bolting it in and everything working? If so is there a list of what year Mazda cars' stereo units that would be direct bolt ins for my car?

I'm not looking at doing an aftermarket swapout. I'm not one driven by the sound of the base unit, but by the rushing of the air overhead and the purr of the rotary, but would like to upgrade the unit I currently have and this deal sounded pretty good for the price.
