4 - 12s only sub amp.. 4ohms? 16 ohms?

I am building a system that consists of 4 twelve inch subs and 2 sets of components along 1 set of midrange speakers.

I have a question about wireing the 12s:

the subs are 4 ohms.
Should I wire them a series parralel or should I just go series all the way?

I wish i had a scanner or pictures to show but i will do my best to verbally illustrate:

side one
positive of amp to positive of speaker 1 - then over to negative of speaker 2.
positive of speaker 2 to negative of speaker one. negative of speaker one to negative on amp.

side 2
basically the same are side one.

I guess what I want to 2 8 ohms set up bridge into 4 ohm channel? sometimes I just loose my self!!!!

Are these DVC's? If not you can only go parallel.

4 SVC drivers with Voice Coils in Parallel
Important: Do not implement any wiring scheme not seen here, including but not limited to series connections between drivers.
3 Ohm Subwoofers: 0.75 Ohms
4 Ohm Subwoofers: 1 Ohm
8 Ohm Subwoofers: 2 Ohms
12 Ohm Subwoofers: 3 Ohms

4 DVC drivers with Voice Coils in Series / Parallel
Connecting the two voice coils of each driver in series (+ to -) and the drivers themselves in parallel (+ to +, etc.) will result in the following impedances:
Dual-6 Ohm Subwoofers: 3 Ohms
Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofers: 2 Ohms
Dual-2 Ohm Subwoofers: 1 Ohm

4 DVC drivers with Voice Coils in Parallel / Parallel
Connecting the two voice coils of each driver in parallel (+ to +, - to -) and the drivers themselves in parallel (+ to +, etc.) will result in the following impedances:
Dual-6 Ohm Subwoofers: 0.75 Ohm
Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofers: 0.5 Ohm
Dual-2 Ohm Subwoofers: 0.25 Ohm

It also depends on what your amp can handle in ohms!
Most amps can handle only 4ohms in bridged mode and maybe 2ohms in stereo.

If you are running DVC's I would run them this way with your amp in stereo: So 2 subs per channel of your amp!
2 DVC drivers with Voice Coils in Series / Parallel
Connecting the two voice coils of each driver in series (+ to -) and the drivers themselves in parallel (+ to +, etc.) will result in the following impedances:
Dual-6 Ohm Subwoofers: 6 Ohms
Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofer: 4 Ohms
Dual-2 Ohm Subwoofer: 2 Ohms

gotta love jl audio
Make sure whatever you do that your amp will support the ohm load you give it. You don't want to fry your amp because you wired your subs wrong.
