2nd Amp Wiring

Please be easy on me, this is my first and last stereo installation attempt. I decided to upgrade my stereo system and bought a 5 channel amp and some new Infinity Crossover speakers. I added them to my existing system and took my 2 channel amp out. It sounded awful.

I took someone's advice and added my second amp back into the system and took two speakers out (I had 8 including 2 subwoofers). I have been working on this since Tuesday. I have everything installed and working except I have my second amp wired into the power antenna wire and you know what happens when I put a cd in. I did a search and couldn't find the exact information I am looking for which is can I wire the second remote into the same place as the first? If not, where?

I have an Eclipse stereo, the Infinity Crossovers, Infinity 6 x 9s and two 8# RF subwoofers. I an running the subwoofers off my 2 channel amp and the speakers off the 5 channel. I am also trying to fine tune the sound and again, I know just enough to be dangerous. . . I am getting alot of background noise before a song starts, is that because I am listening to MP3's? I have the power wires running down the driver's side, two of the RCAs running down the passenger side and one down the middle. Everything is tucked away, most of the interior is out of my car. I put the tweeters in the door panels and the woofers under the dash and the 6 x 9s are in the storage boxes behind the seats. Anything I should do differently?

You can use the same power antenna wire for both amps. You didn't mention your ground wiring? It should be a thick wire and as short as possible.

Thanks, I got it working. Once I found out the wires weren't hot, it made sense.
