1999 spec bumper and other q's

So I plan on switching to the 99 spec bumper within the next year and having my car repainted the original Vintage Red. I have a few quick Q's that I hope someone can answer for me.

1) Is it neccesarry to get the rebar for the 99 bumper?

2) When you get the 99 turn lamps w/ the bumper do you need any kind of harness or do they just hook right up?

3) I want to get either the Seibon Carbon fiber vented hood or the Pettit Racing Fiber glass hood. Wich ever one i get I want to paint to match the car, will either one of the hoods be floppy or too flexible when you open and close it to cause the paint to crack?

1, No - You can cut your current one to make it fit - If you want perfect fit & full support behind the bumper with little work, buy the rebar..Personally I don't think its worth it

2, If you want perfect plug & play then yes - But its easy enough to do without, just cut the wires & use bullet connectors (or something similar) to join them up, takes 10 mins tops

3, I have no exp with those hoods - But I very much doubt it

1) Just like Ceylon said. All I had to do was increase the cut outs for the bumper lights

2) Mine are replicas 99's so they plug right up. No need to change harness

3) I have a seibon CF scoot style hood which I painted. No cracks on paint what so ever but I'm not sure if they used the same kind of paint as the bumper though (flexible). Thats a question for your body shop.

You can buy a knightsport adapdter for OEM 99 spec lights. They are fairly cheap. You could also find more info if you do a search.

Everything is spot on in this thread. I had the seibon ts hood and had no problems for the 2 years or so that I had it.
