3rd Gen seat covers on the way! Ideas?/Pics?

Well I finally landed a set of 3rd gen seats to make patterns from. I will be making covers very soon.
What colors do you 3rd gen guys think will look the best?
I have access to making high definition/detail embrodery for logos running down the side bolsters or back of headrests.
Material combinations like the "carbon fiber" tweed centers with either leather or leather like bolstering like on my 2nd gen work.

So what are your ideas for making the first set look like? Do you have any pictures of custom seats that really looked nice? For those of you that don't look in the 2nd gen forum here is what the ones I have made look like. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ghlight=covers

I can do them in whatever material you want. But leather is high and there are synthetics that wear better and do not require the attention leather needs.

As far as the Sparco Torino's I would have to see one up close to see better detail. It should be a pretty easy modification to the pattern though.
These are the ones you are reffering to, correct?

Well since I've had a couple of 1st gens and several 2nd gens I am real familiar with their interiors but I have not owned a 3rd yet.
So I am all ears for 3rd gen owners that have had a lot of time to contemplate ideas for these interiors.
The guy that mentioned the way the Sparco Torino's are the kind of ideas I am looking for.

I won't be able to get a price set for these until I get my seats from UPS and pull the covers apart.
If I do additional modifications to the pattern it would change the price.
Hopefully these seats get here quick and I can post some pics and prices.

the big issue for those of us with the tan seats is finding the black plastic parts... unless I am wrong..

The only ones I have right now are the verts. All the verts will use the same pattern.
The other 2nd gen's have at least 4 different patterns.
I will probably start with the TurboII/ GXL style. Once I get my web page in place I will get all the pics together so that people can identify and confirm their style.
I want to have closeup pics of material patterns and colors as well as pattern options if things like the rubbing strips idea come into play.

If you have ever been to www.tirerack.com and seen the way you can select a car model and then a color and then a wheel, that is an idea I would like to implement on my site.
I want it so you could select your style of seat and then the fabric and color combination.
Some seats like in the base models and automatics have such a weak profile to them that I do not see selling enough of them to justify trying to get patterns.
I could see a lot of TurboII/GXL sales though.

brentis....

I have an idea for the tan plastic on the seats which would be more durable than just painting them...

How about getting them carbon fibered??? I think it would look pretty sharp and be more durable than paint...

but carbon fibering it wouldn't be super easy...

That is a great idea. Once I get the seats in I will get to dismantle them and see how plausable it would be to make castings of the plastic pieces and make dupes in carbon fiber.

I got the seats in. They are tan and need redone as expected so I don't feel bad about ripping them down. I am pretty sure I can dupe the plastic trim in carbon fiber.
Since I am changing the color of these seats to something more unique I have to make an attempt to do that soon.
Expect pics within a couple of weeks!

sweet!!!

I think the carbon fiber will make alot of people want to do the switch as it would seem to be more durable than painting the plastic...
