12"sub and amp in stock sound system??

I have a stock bose sound in my FD.Can I install a subwoofer and amp in the trunk, and keep my stock head unit and speakers?has any one done this? How did it sound and how hard was it to do?I just need to wire the main power wire to the battery and one wire from the amp to the head unit right?and I know the rest on the sub to the amp. Any advise would be much appreciated! I dont have money to upgrade every thing right now,so I wanted to just ad a bit of bump.

I am sure you know this already, but you forgot to mention it. You would need to get the signal from the head unit to the amp. I don't have an FD, but I doubt the head unit has any RCA outputs. If that's the case you would need to get a high to low line level controller. If you really want to use your stock headunit that's about the only choice you have. Ideally speaking, it would be best if you had RCA outputs on your headunit since the high to low line level controller doesn't provide the best sound posible.

That would be ideal, get a good head unit to replace the one from factory, this will also represent a problem though. You will need a special installation kit, or maybe even pay someone to do it, so that the new head unit works with the bose system or bypasses it. Since you are lacking money I would say get the level controller for now and save up some money for a new head unit in the future.

well getting the converter would be the best plan to have bass....

I would say just get a new head unit and front speakers now, and then save up for the bass.

Thats just how I do things, you wouldnt engd up with bass if you did that though :/
