***FD interior Project***

Like every other 93 FD, my interior panels are all scratched up. After much thought and visiting sevenstock I decided im going to paint my center/ac panels + door panels glossy black. Before I start painting I want to be sure on a couple things...

-What kind of paint should I use for the interior plastics? Car paint with clear coat? I want something that has quality and is resilient to scatches.

-How the hell do you take the A/C panel off?

I will post pics of how this comes out.

I actually have changed my mind and am going to just go with the original stock look. Ive found two paints that from what I hear matches the stock 93 rubbery texture pretty well.

Duplicolor bumper paint (flexible paint)

Duplicolor Trim paint.

which do you guys think will look the closest to stock? In this thread the bumper paint gets the vote.

I just bought the duplicolor trim spray paint and painted the center console. Paint is awesome but my results were not good because the light scratches are still visable. I sanded the console with 100grit then 400grirt. I think the 100grit was a mistake. I sanded the **** out of it for an hour. I didn't use primer or clear coat. Do you guys think if I re-sand the painted console and use sandable primer+ sand again, the scratches wont be visible any more?

Here is pic compared my A/C panel (stock paint) with my center console not 100% dry. Notice the light scratches which are exaggerated by the flash....

no if you put enough time into a good sand, heck go 1500 wet sand. only time i use sandable primer is to test if its smooth, but if you go in 200 grit incremets ups to 1k and did a good job you will be fine
