CA questions about questions

So I feel very redundant asking questions about things that I could just simply scroll down the page to find myself and I read the FAQ's and a couple of the Read me Newbee signs but I am still pondering why this forum has the whole rpg style post format. I mean its cool and all but I would love to get some answers on this so I could set my rotary(heart) to peace.

honestly i just dont understand the waiting period for new members. i am trying to ask questions and introduce myself in the correct sections but i need to wait for a moderator to approve my postings before they are even seen on this forum. Its one heck of a security protocol but at the same time, isnt this forum here to help drivers with their vehicles? We have questions, we kinda hope to get answers sooner than later.

^ It's not up for debate, but the short explanation for its use is to keep out the undesirables. Unless you're interested in knock-off Apple products, Viagra or Nigerian riches, we'll continue screening new members.

It's really not difficult at all to get a few posts under your belt, then move into the normal sections of the forum. We have the "Read me" threads in the intro section for a reason.

I am kinda of getting use to the new system. I was talking to a friend and he was telling me that the reason for that is to discourage people that are of no real use to the forums to stay off and a good way to keep it strictly for the true enthusiast. Does that hold any truth to this site. If so I think that is pretty smart if anyone doesn't mind that I say that but I actually am starting to enjoy my time on the forums learning more about my rx7 as well as driving it I think it was a win win for me. and I know that we are not supose to bring up other forums but to keep it short and simple I have been on a few different ones and found that I have learned more here than all of the other ones i've used

hello, i can understand keeping out the dregs with these rules, just a little bit disappointing when there is something you want to say or maybe want to buy and are helpless to do so.

Everybody has to pay their dues....nobody ever said doing the right thing was going to be the easy thing to do. The last thing we want is some "expert" joining just to add some nonsense into a thread he/she found by trolling the Internet with Google.

The second to the last thing we want happening is some previously banned jerk getting back on and immediately going back to the thread that got him/her banned so they can continue spewing their nonsense.

The third to the last thing we want happening is some loser posting in the FS threads or posting in the GG/BG boards about how "great" a scammer/product is when it's not. It could possibly even be the banned scammer themselves trying to get back in.

Those are just some of the reasons for the delay...the small team of Moderators has a chance to stop the nonsense before it even gets started.

People will simply have to deal with their frustration as they do the right thing and pay their dues here.

There's lots of spam and bots out there and that's where it's staying due solely to the way we have the RX-7 Club moderating system set up now.

No wonder we love it so much!

I noticed how hard it was to post as a noob here too, I just joined because tonight I saw three of the nicest FD's. One happen to see me on the freeway and the other has an LS6 swapped FD in the city i live in. The more I see them the more info I want to get to possibly buy one at some point, super sexy cars.

Is rx7vlub owned by IB too? I am on LS1tech naturally and am just curious.

...not even from my constant editing if I'm following a thread and y'all break 'Net etiquette rules.

We're freakin' crazy here.

I'm a little disappointed in all my fellow lazy americans. Its not any trouble building up posts if you really are driven.

what happens if you let the box that says Publish to Facebook stay clicked? does it go on a wall or something?

No idea, I hate the Facebook-link-to-this-site feature. America's citizenry is already disconnected enough w/o having "social websites" start substituting for people actually having to work to build meaningful friendships.

I'm making a mental note that you're now my "go-to" guy for Facebook tech info.

Thanks for the help!
