The missing FC shifter bushing...

Hi there, I'm pretty new to the whole rear-wheel drive scene and I just bought this fc and the shifter is super floppy and can rotate ~45 degrees. I checked some other threads and opened it up. There was only the top bushing and the plastic bit that goes in the groove of the ball looked broken off. I was wondering if the the part of the transmission that holds the shifter is connected to the rest of it and if i should just get an ebay short shifter. I'm really hoping there's not little bits of bushing floating around my trans pan.
