As far as I know, you can only close your own "For Sale" or "Wanted to Buy" threads...

you can close your own threads in the classifieds.

otherwise, PM a mod who has powers in that specific section.

A list of moderators is at the bottom of every section. You can contact anyone on that list.

I fixed it for you. You should also be able to do it yourself under "Thread Tools". The other option that always works is to PM a mod of that section (or any supermod) and they will be able to help you with things like this.

I posted an ad couple days ago in the Canadian classified section. In the "Thread Tools", there's only 4 options for me and none of them allow me to delete my ad.

That is because Ads do not get DELETED,unless they break rules.(also you can't Edit the original ad 30 minutes after you have it up so there is no "price fixing".(it's been done,so this stops the offence before it starts)

The OP of that Ad can CLOSE it,..Or a MOD can close it if he chooses to.

Respectfully it is better to close Ads that are no longer Active,so other members can narrow their search and get Fresh ads to look at,rather than Ads that are useless with no items available in them.

*note: If you wish to have an Ad deleted, you can Contact either myself or a MOD Member in that section( look at bottom of section and pick a Moderator.Pm him).
If the reasons are sound then the ad can be removed.

Right...but I still can't "close" an ad to stop people from posting. Thread tools have 4 options and none of them are for closing. Is it only my profile that is messed up?! Thx.

Try making a reply(Ie: sold) and then "go advanced".
there is a box under "Thread management" that you can check off to close your thread after a Reply.

IF that doesn't "do it" or is not present then send me a PM and if you choose to close a thread then I can close it.(since I am active in the CDN section).

The Owners of the Forum have assured us that they have enabled this "ability for an OP to close their thread" to be operation in all FS sections.
Any Non-Functioning of this should be reported and you can do that by hitting the triangle with the "!" in it under the OP's Screen name and then explain why you are reporting the post.

It will be looked into if the thread is reported.

Ok thanks, I have reported it. There is no "thread management" section. All I see is thread subscription options at the end of the post. I've been on forums since the late 90s and currently still active on 10-11 forums and this is the only one where I'm having trouble with closing threads. No, i'm not using a Commodore 64 or a 486 DX33 computer. lol.

OH!
If you are wondering why The "Mazdee's Cars" are not UP,..The thread was taken down.
Reason:They are NOT in Your Possession and Posting for others is not allowed by this Club.(see rules at top of CDN section)
IF Dave wants to post the Cars on Forum then he can make a FS thread.

Oh I know the rules. I figured there would be a consensus to let it slide due to Dave's legendary status in the RX7 community and due to this monumental and sad juncture in his relationship with the racing world in that the man is giving up the cars not for financial reasons; he is giving it up due to health reasons and it's pretty sad indeed. I figured I'd do him a favour and post pictures, prices, details, and contact information. The only thing that wasn't up to *rules* was that it was not in MY possession. The man's in physical pain and he isn't on the forums but hey, rules are rules.

Thanks anyway...
