wierd rpm signal when cranking
well finally got everything buttoned up enough to be able to crank her to check all sensors and cas
well all sensors check out fine...
but of course while cranking and watching the rpm's instead of it staying a steady 180prms the whole time (my batts kinda low) it would bounce from the 180 to 1280 it looked like for a splirt second...not long enough for me to really see the actual # but i know it bounced to somethign like 12XX
is this normal?
u may ask did it start well no b/c i dont have a turbo on the car and im in the process of making the manifold i disconnected the coils...this way there would be no chance of ignition....
my setup stock cas
Trigger input : Int. reluctor
Trigger gain: 3
Trigger angle: 67 degrees
Trigger type: multitooth
Home input: Int. reluctor
Home gain: 3
No of teeth: 24
Tooth offset: 5
any help greatly appricated

it's not going to fire the coils without the wires and spark plugs unless it jumps out of the coil tower. so tach won't work, erratic rpm number could be some bad/loose wiring or some interference. make sure battery is in top condition and check the operation with everything ready to go.

ok so stock tac is wired into stock coils? i just figured it would take rpm readings from the cas( coils having no effects on a rpm signal? ) who knows thanks for the idea though...guess ill have to get her together and fire it up b4 i go back to school
