i know that haltech specifically says not to use a batt charger on your car with the engine running, i would assume cranking as well. has any one done this with any repercussions.

Well, they strongly advise against it, and they say its something the ECU cant handle, but ive done it, as long as the battery charger is set at low amp mode (less than 20). I am not saying you should, and if im asked i will deny it.
