traction control on Elite 2500

I had question about traction control with Elite 2500. The elite 2500 has only four SPi inputs. I'm already using one for Flex sensor and another for brake switch which leave me with 2 SPI outputs for traction control. I asked Haltech and they said just put the sensors on one side of the car.

Wouldn't this cause unpredictable wheel slip as LSD locks and unlocks the rear wheels? Another option is to add an expander but that's another $350-400... would love to hear from users who set up traction control with only 2 wheel speed sensors. Thank you!

I talked to Chris Ludwig a little bit ago about it. Haltech apparently doesn't have the capability to make use of 4 sensors and average between the pairs. You're stuck with 1 front and 1 rear unless they update their software in the future. Just run the front on either side and either do the same for the rear, pull a speed off the axle, or trans speed.

I'd probably just get the expander and set it up for 4 wheel speeds (hopeful updates from Haltech) and use the addition inputs you have for a TC on/off switch and TC trim level.

It all depends on your table setups. I only have experience with Motec using 4 sensors, but I think you will find that 2 sensors works just fine. I'd PM C. Ludwig for additional info.

^ Summed up pretty well. Use the trans speed for your rear speed signal and you'll have an averaged input for the rear. Downside in the front is if you have something that lifts the inside wheel. That could be an issue.

If traction control is highly important, Syvecs has a very complete and highly effective system for something between Haltech and Motec money.
