TPS is on backwards...what can I do?
My haltech install went great but the TPS reads backwards throttle movement when I press on the gas. Can I swith the leads on it to correct this, or do I have to make a new bracket and "flip" the sensor so it rotates the proper direction..
thanks.
thanks.

This literally happens to me every time I wire a standalone. No matter how many times I check or measure the TPS is always backwards. It's a running joke around the shop. Swap the ground and +5v lines.
haha thanks man. I will do that.
We flipped the TPS around to the other side to see if it made a difference, but it still turned backwards.
Easiest thing I found was...take a peice of cardboard write front on it and draw wires on one side. Then poke a hole in it with a pen and rotate the pen like you have it mounted. now flip, upsidedown, reverse, whatever you gotta do to to get the thing to rotate in the opposite (but correct) direction.

btw aaron, so you agree that the sensor rotates freely in both directions???
Maybe i just got a weird batch but the haltech sensor has little to no rotational resistance to it, but it still picks up rotation signals, must be magnets in there or soemthing.

Guys, the haltech provided TPS only rotates in one direction, it can be mounted so it rotates either clockwise or counter clockwise depending on how you need it, but it should always be connected so it reads 0-5v from the signal wire.
If you were to mount it in the opposite way your throttle rotates YOU WILL BRAKE IT. Also, you should mount it so that it is at rest with the throttle plate and rotates with it.

ok so maybe mine is broken, how do you know if it is at rest? since mine rotates 360 degrees with no resistance, but when me mounted it the right way it reads a value of 0 at idle and 11 to 12 at full throttle.
are you saying if I reverse the ground and the 5V wires it will damage the sensor was well?
and how will this effect the cars engine?? I believe it only requires TPS input when stabbing the throttle.
but anyways im gonna try it at first since I am still getting an output.
