tach signal on an e6x

i need to have an rpm input for my avc-r boost controller. can i splice into the ignition #1 output to and use that as my rpm input?

No, use the Tach output line from your trailing coils. Should be a yellow wire with a female bullet connector on it. Run a wire from it to your RPM input on your AVC-r.

that simple.

If you are running the stock coils that is the easiest way to get a tach output.

Yup, easy and effective. But i think the wire is Yellow with a Blue line....

damn, i wish i hadnt been so impatient and waited for your replys. will it work to splice into the green/black wire going to the trailing coil?

It could work, but the Tacho output wire is there, just use that and you'll be fine.
