sprint re help
have a couple qestions do i need a ignition like msd ? or can i use my stock ignition ? also can i countroll my omp with my sprint re ?its a 90 S5 and no i cant use a manulle omp becuse i have a custom throttle body set up... any help would be fantastic
Yes, the SRE will control the stock ignition or any of the aftermarket combinations. No, the SRE will not control the OMP. You will need to premix or upgrade to one of the Sport ECUs to control the OMP.
what about WI?
maybe you covered all the in's and out's of this ECU in another thread? i'm stuck between this and the RTEK, this for the no more AFM, rtek for the price.

The SRE has a generic duty output that could be used to drive a water injection solenoid in a similar manner to how FJO does their system.
I've also setup systems to use the same output to drive the injection pump through a solid state relay. This approach varies pump pressure (speed) to control volume through a static nozzle. This would be similar to how Alky-Control runs their system.

Guys, if your car is an S5, my suggestion to ALL is leave the stock ECU in place and install the SprintRE as a piggyback using a boomslang extension harness, the S5 isnt shown among their options, but its the same one that a Honda OBD1 ECU would use.
That way your OMP still works under the stock ECU's control, not the best of options, but it does the job. You also loose AC control with the Sprint, since there's no provisions for this among its features. Bottom line, if you need total control, get a Sport.
