sprint re failed while driving

I have a 1986 turbo 2 with a haltech sprint re. I was driving the car and it suddenly died. I noticed the fuel pump wasn't priming when I tried to restart the car.

While looking for the problem, I discovered the switched 12v supply wire to the sprint re had no power. The previous owner used the black wire with blue stripe from the stock ecu f31 connector to supply switched 12v power to the haltech.

I then connected the sprint ecu switched 12v to the radio 12v switched supply instead. The fuel pump started working again. However, the car still won't start and I can no longer connect to the sprint re with the laptop.

Also, I cannot restore power to the black / blue stripe wire from stock ecu f31connector . I have checked every fuse. It seems this is also part of the problem?

I cannot figure out what relay/fuse supplies power to the black/blue stripe wire.

I would appreciate any suggestions you could give me . Thanks

If something shorted out and caused the black/blue wire to go dead, it's possible that took out the ECU with it. Or it's possible the ECU went bad and took out that circuit.

Since the fuel pump is activating, the ECU is powering up. I've never experienced this failure mode though, so I really can't help. I would send the ECU in to be bench tested. That would at least rule out or fix that issue.

You were right. The haltech was not bad. I was able to connect to the haltech today.
I reset the connections on the laptop and it connected.
Moving the haltech switched 12v wire to a working 12v switched source solved the haltech/fuel pump not working issue.

However, the car still won't start.
The lack of power to the ecu wire and what it relay/? it runs through must be the issue.
Thanks for the help.

Do you get an RPM signal when cranking? Do you have spark? The fuel pump primes, but does it run while cranking and maintain fuel pressure?

I was able to get the car going thanks to you and satch. The switched 12v source was the problem and the solution was wiring it to a switched 12v source that also had power while cranking instead.

I never could figure out how it ran before. Apparently the old black/ blue stripe wire should not have had any power to it at all since it only received power when the stock ecu sent it.
I can't find where someone added power to the wire elsewhere..?

Thanks for your help.
