Shielded wire for Crank sensor

Plan on making my own haltech sport 1000 harness for my FD. What shielded wire are you guys using for crank sensor? Any links to buy some. I know the stock haltech flying harness has 4 conductors shielded. All my other wires in my harness will be mil spec but the shielded wire is the only missing part of my project. Thanks

Jonny,

If nothing else, you could reuse the CAS cable contained in your original harness or from an FC). It is my understanding that it contains much better shielding than, for example, the wiring Haltech uses in their harnesses.

I'm not sure if that's useful to you or not, but there you go.

Shielded security wire can work, just watch the temperature rating.

Link not working. I did a search through the forum and I came up on an aircraft website selling copper braided shielding in different diameters. Thinking about twisting the 4 wires together with a drill then lay the shielding over it with a crimp to ground ecu connection, followed by quality heat shrink tubing. Anyone have any suggestions?

Or how about this link. 22g 4 wire shielded mil spec?? All my wiring is 20g so I don't know if having 22g for crank is too small.

22g is plenty. It's only signal wire. The amperage is miniscule.

If you're doing an FD, use one 4-core cable. It's all you need. The power and ground from the ECU built into the Haltech harness isn't needed for the stock VR sensors. If you're using the FFE kit with the VR sensor, you'll only need a 2-core cable. The FFE with Hall sensor will need a 3-core.

Would you rather have the braid or a true twisted shielded cable? What gauge wire, how many conductor, and how long a piece do you need. Chances are i have it. If you would rather have the sleeve i have that too.
