Question about fuel maps and timing

I have a project which i am about to begin where i will be placing my injectors directly into the rotor housing. I am wondering if Haltech is capable of supporting having the injectors open and close relative to degrees of the rotors rotation. By this i mean, i can only have a maximum of say 50% duty cycle, but i need it to happen during a particular part of the rotation..

is this possible with haltech, or do i need a more advanced ECU for this?

thanks in advanced

Are you refering to something similar to the 16X prototype engine that mazda recently released where the injectors are sitting in the housing making it a sort of direct injected type deal? Because if you are, the problem is the following, the injectors need to be direct injection injectors and those have extremely high current ratings, close to 60Amps, so there isnt an aftermarket system out there right now that can handle them. They also work at very high pressures, 1600+psi, to be able to inject the fuel into the combustion chamber under compression strokes.

So, if you've figured all this out, then the only thing left if the engine management. Haltech cant support it currently and i dont know if a way to do an external driver box that could.

So, you have a bit of a conundrum on your hands. The Haltech does have a way for you to do injection at a specific degree of crank rotation, its called the Injection Angle Map, but it probably wont do you any good due to the other issues.

I hope i am not detouring you from your mission though. It would be interesting to see.

Good luck.

well the injectors are going to be located between the port and the omp injector. the engine will be a peripheral port, and since it will be driven on the street, it is a concern for me as far as mileage. however, in that location it shouldn't have too much of a pressure to make a difference.

and thank you, that is exactly what i needed to know
