question about e8 setup? input please

I have a 87 13b 6 port with vdi. the aux ports and vdi are wide open. Im also running 550s for prims, Im running a e8.
I am having the hardest time trying to get this car to idle(at operating temp).
I have to have my bas set at 100% duty in order to get the car to run crappy. It seems no matter what I do my afrs stay around 12. only corrections Im using are post start enr and air temp.
am I forgeting something or overlooking something? sometimes I miss the real simple things and make things more complicated than they need to be.

I'm still a newb when it comes to this stuff and I tried paying a guy to help me that does a lot of tuning at a reputable shop and that was a waste of $260.

Havoc - Yeah Im gonna do a fuel pressure check. I was using a different main pulley with the 4 timing marks, I now have a stock pulley on so I'll try to reset the mechanical timing again this weekend.
Beefhole - My stocks were bad and I had a buddy that hooked me up with a set. I do like your avatar picture.
thanks guys for input!

Well last night I drove my car chasing my buddies rx7, it was running a little better so I pushed it. We made a pit stop at a gas station and we both filled our tanks. Well we got back to his house and I let it idle for about 2 mins.
This morning she wouldn't start, so I tried unflooding it and nothing. So I checked for spark and I had spark. I pulled the plugs and cranked it over and I def have compression. So we tried beating on the tank and then just for giggles I did the atf trick, still nothing. The plugs don't look wet but they have a little bit of fuel on them. So I bypassed the fuel filter and still nothing, my buddy was going back to the army so I had to tow my car back from RI.
Tomorrow I'm gonna check fuel pressure but I think I have a bad fuel pump, it is 23 years old.

Also while taking it off the tow truck I turned the key on to move the steering wheel and the car turned on for about a second. How did it turn on without cranking?
lol
If I don't want to go oem fuel pump which one should I buy?
