Planning on Buying Halteck

Hey guys,

A little background I guess is where I start. I plan on buying a haltech, E6 i think it was, the car that its going on is an S3 12a SP, I plan on going with IDA throttle bodies, unsure about injector size (if you guys can help with that, that would be great). I plan on going with a rotrex supercharger down the road (let now start a SC VS TC) so maybe injectors that would allow me to run NA and then under boost later on. This car is also a DD so if that makes a difference. I plan on installing a computer inside the glove box. And hopefully I can use the screen from that to display about 6 guages (It would give it a more clean look and might be the cheaper way of going, because the guages that i plan on buying are the Nexus Guage if money allows.) I have a bung for 02 sensor, I also plan on installing EGT guages. What other accessories would i need, and how much money realistically would i need to just get the thing running with a couple basic guages at first. Thanks

Sam

If needed, this is my last dyno graph from my car:

Was your question about gauges or that you wanted advise on what HALTECH to buy? by the way, are you planing on buy a straight E6 (ancient system that wont work on a rotary??), or an E6X, or E6K, or E6S, or E6A??

Your computer in the glove box sounds interesting, i might do that when i have a nice car of my own i can tweak with, wireless keyboard, maybe. :P

As far as the most important gauges you need to always see are, tacho, EGT, O2, Boost, and water temp.

Question is basically which one to choose of the E6, or if you recommend any other ones. THere isn't that much info that I could pull up for 12a engines with FI.

Also about the keyboard. I like to think lightweight, they make these laser keyboard that can be projected. I plan on having the keyboard projected on the inside face of the glove box lid.

I think you need a flat smooth surface for those, i would just use a regular wireless keyboard. Anyway, the system to use for your application would be the E6X, latest version. Or if you can find an older one, or even an E6K.

Cool thanks ... Also as far as basemaps .. I know you have a few sticked but they're all solely for 13bs, where would I find something for a 12a? All the things controlled or monitored electronically would be: WBo2, Dual EGT, 4 injectors, temp sensor for water and oil. I think thats basically all the inputs. This is the first time that i do such things as stand alones, so any more info the better. Also if anyone know about injector sizes that would be good to start with (i'll be going with the bosch type i think).
