that sounds like the setup for an fc with the crank sensor stabbed the old hitman method.

odd--it fired right up and i zero'd the timing yesterday morning. i shut it off and got something to eat and when i came back out, the ecu had reset itself--EVERYTHING....i've never seen a haltech do that before.

 

anyone know what would cause an e6x to incorrectly store the maps? How would it be erased? Anyone? Dang I want my car back....

 

this thing should not be erasing itself....

 

I don't have any experience with the E6X, but I know it happens with the E6K.
We theorize that it's due to comm cable and transfer drop-out errors that cause the corrupted upload.
Try changing the serial cable or make sure the cable isn't tight or moving during an upload.
It's good advice to always double-check your maps on every upload.

p.s. it "decided" to start working. i'd been ****** around in windows mode for most of the time and i loaded it up in dos again and it seems like it's all good now. there's nothing i hate more than when a problem "fixes" itself because there's no way to know if it will come back. i like knowing exactly what's wrong and exactly what it takes to fix it. no mysteries...

on a positive note, car pulls good @ 12 psi and i'll be working on the drivability/fuel economy tuning today-as well as the boost transition areas. if i can talk my dad into making a visit with his welder, we'll get the egt in and then take a trip to the dyno for the high boost tuning.

external waste gated with a gt35r and
lots of other junk in a 1st gen car.

i've doen a couple x's in fc's. hit me up if you run into any problems.

just remember to turn motronic mode off in the dos software.

 

my bad..i was thinking we were talking about fc's here. I just re read and noticed the big FD!!

shouldnt be a huge differance i wouldnt think. the only thing fc in my project is the actual engine and intake manifolds.....the rest is all custom goodies.

used to be msd 6a boxes before i went turbo.

 

i have the map from my half-bridge.
you'll need to move the staging bar back to 12 or 13 and take a buttload of fuel out, but you cna try it if you want.

i also have no idea how to do the fuel setup so if you could jot some some info on that id really appreciate it.
