no comm with puter

E6X Ok, I checked all wiring to and from the ems in the car, it has power. 13.5v to be exact on pins 25 and 7 on the ems harness plug. Anyhow, I hook up to my desktop computer on wheels and it says no comm. I don't understand why because I have other devices I use on the computer with the serial port. What can I check in the computer to get this haltech to connect. Also, the 2 three plug connectors coming out of the harness plug I checked also and are receiving 4.97v. So doesn't that mean the haltech is working?

I am using an extention cable to the computer, could this be causing a problem? There is probably about 18ft of serial cable.

Ya, it is... althought my the shop pc isn't worth ****... I'm prolly gonna hire Chris Ludwig to take a look at it and if he can get it to work tune the ems while he's there.

The serial cable length doesnt sound bad, ive used x5 6' cables onces before, and it worked fine.

Unless the cable is crossed.
