Haltech ISC - I ditched that loud mofo...
ISC - I ditched that loud ****...
I could never get this thing to quite down...it was to the point I could hear it down the street.
Maybe it was my SMIC, short IC pipes, and open intake...but I finally pulled the plug on it.
idle is stable, (and I can lean it out a little more, and I can idle it a little lower ~880) and never has funky moments as with the ISC would happen. Cold starts suck, but I could never get the ISC to idle up and be quite.
How many steps do you guys have it set to?
I just think this little thing couldn't move enough air.
I might look for another means of bypassing air?!
just my thought, how many of you have noisy ISC's?

Well, on a stock FD with stock computer during sub zero weather my car would idle with out the thermal wax connected.
I've seen it where thermal wax would move enough based on the manifold temp to still do it's job effectively. Perhaps mine is still doing that.
It will idle about 1200rpm until warrm.
I cannot hear it inside the car.

well I've been tweakin it some more...fiddled with the two idle screws I know about.
got the car to have a solid idle ~880 with it disabled (less work for hot settings)
I was also able to get the duty down to 7ms...which is quiter.
it idles up fine Start 400rpm, cold 400rpm, and idle 900rpm...so total cold is 1700rpm then drops to 1300rpm, and will hold like a champ, but if I try to drive...once I closed the throttle, rpms drop until it dies. <--I tried messing with cold opening position, no dice for cure.
anyone have an idea they'd like to toss out?

update: changed some things and I think I've got it dead on now.
Idle: 900
Cold: 400
Start: 0
Thrshld: 15
Steps: 10 <----won't idle up when I had it 100-150
C_open: 70
H_open: 5 (or 15…can't remember)
C_min: 35
H_min: 0
I can now drive the car cold without stalling, I think this had something to do with injector phasing. But someone mentioned rotary mode, doesn't look at this map, so it could have been something else.
I ditched the start up rpm, because I could never nail it with hot and cold, with post start up limits. Once she fires when cold the rpms shoot up to ~1000 and settle around 880, I prefer this to the 20s delay start time.
