Injector Dead Times PS1000

What is the proper way to setup dead times on the PS1000?

And is there a way to set the dead times for both primary and secondary injectors?

Thanks in advance

The injector dead time map is for the primary injectors only. That's easy enough to figure out.

The dead time value for the secondary injectors is found in the fuel setup page and is called disenrichment. It's a single value. Enter the dead time value for your secondary injectors that corresponds to the normal running voltage you see at full load. The voltage should be fairly stable at high loads where the secondaries are used. Probably not ideal, a full 2D map would be better, but that is how it works.

Thats good info for me right now. Why complicate things by calling it disenrichment...

Now, if I had added resistors to the secondaries, will that affect dead time?

Your guess is as good as any. This is why resistors are a bad idea. If you're using an ECU that doesn't have peak and hold driver capability, why not use the correct high-ohm injector? The combination of a saturated driver, low-ohm injector, and a resistor will produce sluggish injector performance. Meaning the dead time will be greater than what that same injector would experience when properly run with a peak and hold driver. But how much you ask? Only way to tell is to have the injector tested in the configuration you're wanting to run it.

In the end, you're spending a good chunk of change on a quality ECU, personally I see no good argument for using a low-ohm injector/resistor combo when there are so many good high-ohm injectors on the market. Do it right, do it once.

Your absolutely right.I see that now while tuning. Im starting the staging bar at 5+ ms when I should be way lower...

Its just when your gathering your parts for your fuel setup and your not too familiar with the injector behavior. You tend to go with what 'works' for everyone. Well, it works... just not too well.
