Infographic S5 T2 to Haltech

Here's a little something I came up with to cut down on the confusion of the wiring. If you spot an error please pm me so I can fix it. Enjoy

- Well, if you're trying to make a patch loom, you have the incorrect part numbers for the Mazda connectors. You have the part numbers for the connectors on the emissions loom that plug into the ECU. Since the stock ECU is being eliminated, you actually need the ECU header that plugs into the emissions loom. I don't have the S5 header part number, but the FD number is 174915-6. It has the three FC connectors, plus the 4th FD connector. Can easily be used for the S5 FC. S4 is completely different.

- DPO2 to the knock sensor? Not correct. The knock sensor itself has no reason being connected to the Haltech.

- IGN 1 does go to the leading coil. IGN 2 is the trail coil trigger. IGN 3 is the trail coil toggle. You have 2 and 3 switched.

Here are the Haltech versions of what you've done.

S4 - http://www.lms-efi.com:2082/cpsess63...eurl=&basedir=

S5 - http://www.lms-efi.com:2082/cpsess63...eurl=&basedir=

That's good work, but if you're going to make use of the stock emissions loom, this is the easy button. Plug-in and tune.

I have that patch. I guess the guide is a way to wire the stock harness into the Super Seal plugs that Haltech uses if you didn't have a patch harness.

Here's the part # ECU side of the Multilock plugs the harness uses. It is a PCB mounted style .

Thanks for the input !

Oh and FML I wish I would have known about that link to that pdf. Sigh... that should be a sticky at the top of the forum

Thats neat. I have a brand new harness on my S4 and was thinking about (FOR a few years but have not acted yet) on the possibility of "plug and play" Haltech into the stock S4 harness. My issue is that I would like to keep all emissions and have some aux inputs and outputs still available. The picture looks like a sealed unit and if I remember my last communication with Chris there would be a need to build a custom patch harness in order to use all of the options IE inputs and outputs of the Haltech. Not sure why Haltech would build this patch harness this way. There does not even seem to have any provisions for boost control output.

Sometimes it seems like I should just revert back to a full haltech again. Would be my 4th haltech purchase. LOL. Was considering Rtek. Come to think about it its still probable better for a whole new harness. The stock S4 TPS is not so go. I think I've seen people use S5 TPS connect to the haltech.
