Ignition Fuse Poping randomly..

Hey guys,

So got my motor started with the email that C.Ludwig sent me and it was running fine yesterday.

Today i go out to the car nothing changed since and try to start the car and it has no spark.. Did some trouble shooting and the 15amp IGN fuse in the haltech harness has poped..

Changed the fuse to and then whilst the reds were on and laptop connected the fuel pump relay was clicking.. I then had another look at the wiring and the fuse and the Dash on the car was seeing 12v yet the ecu manager saw 9v.

Tried to start the car again and it run up fine yet it wouldnt rev cleanly - new set of plugs and it as soon as i free reved it to 5000rpm the ign fuse blew again..
Walked away from the car and left it a few hrs and then went back and its blowing the fuse on crank now and the latptop is loosing connection with ECU..

Any ideas on this issue perhaps when the car was fine 1 day the next ive got these issues..

Thanks

could the AEM High output coils be drawing more than 15amps causing them to blow perhaps.. ?

your grounding out somewhere. track your wires back . I had this issue with a haltech once. also look at the connectors in the fuse block.

They could be. Each coil has a 19 amp driver. I've run four of them through the Haltech harness several times though. If it were the coils drawing too much, I would suspect you would only see the issue at high RPM/duty. Try upping the fuse to a 20 amp and see what you get. I'd still suspect a dead short as you issue.

I threw a new relay in to replace the fuel one that was flickering and checked over all connections etc and is now fine..

I do however need to get rid of the 1200cc primarys and look at putting 2 550s back in and the 1200s can go as the primarys as its massivly rich..
