I am just wondering if You remove the whole MAIN harness that goes from the ECU through the pass.side firewall and replace it with the haltech loom. My main harness is fried and the injector pugs are beaking off, if i go to a Haltech do I still have to use the main harness or can I scrap it.

I believe you can scrap it. Or most of if. On 2nd gens You can scrap it all, unless you want wipers and/or cruis control. Then you have to do a little rewiring. Nothing concerning the ECU, just relocating wires and such. Styk33 has some Haltech related info on his site, considering he has a 3rd gen it should be a bit more helpful to you.

i scraped mine. you do need a few things from it though. you will need TPS, CAS, the loom that goes to the trany, and depending on what injectors you are using, maybe those...
just dont toss it right away, hold on to it. i had to refer back to it a couple of times just to figure a few things out from the wiring manual from mazda. dont go ripping out the front harness or dash harness. just pull through like you were pulling your motor. eveything else stayed on mine.

Thanks. Another ? for You guys. I am in Canada and tuning is an issue here. I have a PFC now and if I stay with it I am going with the DYI wide band and the datalogit. With that setup You can data log in the map watcher mode and every fuel cell will give an accurate A/F ratio making tuning very simple. I know that the support for the Haltech is great but when I need a base map for my single ,and even more important, fine tuning, am I going to be able to hook My lap top up and log A/F ratios with the Haltech? Also I have a full MSD ignition setup now that is not yet installed, is this an easy install like it would be with the PFC, or complicated?

Thanks

Steve
