Happy w elite ecu? Switch from microtech

I’m currently debating on making the switch from a microtech lt10
to a elite 2500. After talking to a tuner he highly recommend I make the switch and wait to tune my car . I looking for a reliable car which engine protection features set up correctly should give me. My question to you all how do you like the elite series ? If tuned by a pro does your car run better vs other ECUs I.e microtech. Or others, my car runs decent on microtech but I think it could be improved, no idle control for one, mainly engine protection, I lost a motor due to oil line coming off on highway which could have Been saved, the tuner explained to me I’m rolling the dice w microtech every time I boost the car. In case of fuel pressure loss , lean air fuel. .
thanks
john

How hard was it to get set up and wired correctly? I’m trying to figure out if I should make my own harness or buy terminated , or spend some money on a lms wire harnesss.
Is the drivability night and day over your old microtech?

i just made the leap from an LT-10S to the Elite 1500. i bought the terminated harness from Haltech, total cost ended up being well over $2500 for everything but its well worth it. endless options with the Haltech in regards to sensor inputs, outputs, and engine safety, not to mention the far superior tuning ability.

Microtech seems like a great and simple EFI for drag racing, but for a street car or race car where you need more than JUST fuel and ignition control, its the way to go.

Is there any stand out feature that the 2500 has over say the 1000, as to why you are going with the 2500 instead?

I would suggest talking to a dealer if you have any questions, Chris @ LMS-EFI is super knowledgeable and has been a rotary/Haltech guy for a long time.

https://dynosty.com/2019/01/25/halte...00-comparison/

There is a good comparison between the models.

1000/1500 are both 4 ignition/4 injector output ECUs (can run sequential fuel/direct fire ignition on up to a 4 cyl or 2 rotor). The 2000/2500 double the fuel injector/ignition outputs to 8 each for running sequential fuel/direct fire on up to an 8 cyl engine or even a 4 rotor.

If you want DBW, you would need a 1500 or 2500.

I have the Elite 1000 on my FC.

Yea, I had already been reviewing Haltechs comparison charts. Was just looking to see if there was something i was missing or wasn't posted on it.

Also, that link has a much better breakdown between models.

thanks guys for the replies,
the more I read and watch videos on the elite the more I want one. The tuner I spoke to is a dealer and he broke it all down for me. We originally talked about 6 injectors running in 3 stages for better transition so he recommends 2500 but , I think I’ll do the 1500 . Stay w 4 injectors, injector dynamics will have a 2550x that should be out in a few months.
that w 1700x primary will be more fuel than I will ever need. I really just want all the engine protection features and a ecu that will run a bac valve at idle.

1500 will be perfect for that. I ran my car as 2 stage injection at one point with 2 ID 1300 primaries and 4 ID2000 2200cc secondaries with 2 injectors paired together on each single secondary output effectively making each function as a single 4400cc injector and was able to get it to stage smoothly with some basic manipulation of the staging point, stage on enrichment and duration. You shouldnt have any problem bringing on a pair of the 2550s as long as your primaries are of reasonable size (Id say probably 1300cc+).

Yes, and Yes, i solved a few cold start/idling issues after switching over, and driveability has greatly increased

It appears there are 4 to choose from:

Did the pre terminated kit plug right into all the original sensors?

Elite 1500

Yes very happy
car runs great and has been reliable
I like knowing the computer has engine protection set up so I can drive and and not worry
a good tune is crucial for reliability and I run e70
So not really pushing the fuel hard at 18-19 psi
Most of the time running g around 15 psi is plenty of fun on street

Awesome, good to hear! It's what I also plan to do.

Would you mind providing links to the actual system you needed up going with? It appears there are a few options for the 13B. Im looking at the 1500 series.
Also what injectors did you end up going with for primary and secondary?

Thanks again for any help!
