Haltech PS 1/2K install info Request Thread
Hey Guys, Im about to install my PS1k into my car. After referring back to my install of previous ecu (E6X), and searching for for help doc on the E8/11 ecu on the rotary.. I cant help to feel... well that there is a lack of information when installing the newer haltech units.
For example, Even though there is a pdf diagram floating around on how to wire up the PS1k to the rx7.. one of the things it does not hit on is the exact wires to use to wire up the home and the trigger positives and negatives.
Now some of you might say well read the help doc, and i understand the concept, but having some of you knowledgeable guys who know this stuff inside out is so much more reassuring when trying to do it. I have seen some of you guys find genuine fault with some of the help doc out there.
I'm hoping that we can start a how to guide on installing this ecu... for example:
*wiring the triggers correctly (which wire to where)
*wiring ignition. (think this info is floating around too)
*Wiring dpo's and apo's ( which to use for 2 step, antilag etc.. and how)
*Proper ways of getting voltage for the ecu.. if using short loom( spice into stoch ecu or run a line to the battery?)
*Proper settings for certain sensors.. for exampling.. when logging afr with the haltech... using innovate wideband, the analog out put setup is 0v= 7.35AFR and 5v=22.39. So making a sensor chart would be a good idea for generally used sensors and how to set them up
*Proper ignition settings
*Proper trigger setting
And so on and so on.
Im not asking on how to tune the cars.. just want to see how to install successfully thread. I feel if we had this, then people would have a foundation(check list) before coming and making a thread on not being able to start their car.. trouble shoot for 2 weeks just to find out they didnt install one wire properly.
So what do you guys think??

Keith, shoot me an email. I think I've got an installation document around here somewhere that'll at least get you started. Also can probably make you a base map, too.
