Arrow Haltech Platnium 2000

Okay so heres the deal...

Gotta 90 rx7 gxl, S5 jdm turbo swap...*n351* runs poorly, not driveable.

Just got my new platnium 2000 in, finnaly got my ems...

anyway, I have no idea where to start with a map...I mean, once I get a decent map going, I can finnaly put the car on the streets...

Does anyone here know any (Stock, or mildly modded S5 Turbo) maps for the platnium series? I can do a E11v2/E8 also. Came with software.

So just throw some help my way =] thanx a bunch.

Jacob.

Ok, so you got your hands on a new PSport2000, who did you get it from? Are they able to provide a base map? I played with a plug in map for the S5 to turn it into an NA map, its not hard to import it into the platinum ECU manager.

But i would think that who ever sold the ECU should provide you with the necessary support, no?

Only base map Haltech has for the new Platinum series is the 350z.

Thats why I'm asking, does anyone know of any base maps I can start with? It comes with the E11/E8 Halwin software so I can do one of those maps.

See this is how I got my 2000.

I ordered the 1000, turns out, they didnt accualy have them in, they were still waiting on them to arive, SO, they called me up and said hey, we dont have them in stock but we have the 2000's and we were just wanting to know if you were okay with us giving you the 2000 instead of the 1000 for no extra cost.

SO, I got really lucky and got a 2000 for the price of the 1000. Pretty baller I know. PLUS, they gave me free 3 day shipping.

Where I got it has the absolute best prices, trust me, I checked, and their super cool.

While you can't beat the 2000 for 1000 deal you didn't find the lowest prices on Haltech systems.

While the E8/11 maps can't be directly imported it wouldn't take terribly long to build a Platinum map from an existing E8/11 map.

Oh the haltech forum, people say that the e11 tunes can be imported. (I do not know if this is correct or not, just saying it has been said)

Let's give that a maybe. Claudio ought to be able to answer this one. I seem to remember talk that the Sport ECUs wouldn't import but there is an import tab in the drop down menu. The catch is that when you select a Sport map from the Haltech base maps you can't import an older .map file. If you select the 350Z or GTR base map which is effectively a Pro (not Sport...two different ECUs) map then it allows you to import .map files. So, without having hands on an actual unit, it's hard to say if the Sport ECUs will import .map files.

Claudio? I gotta call the US office tomorrow anyway and will get an answer then if Claudio doesn't clear it up before then.

Platinum ECU Manager CAN import the 1.89 map files only. Theres a dialog window that pops up after you select the file to import which asks you what you want to import, fuel tables, ignition tables, correction tables, trigger setups, settings, additional maps, etc., but ONLY with 1.89 files. What you can do if you have 1.71 files is filter them through 1.89 first, make sure all is set correctly, then import them with ECU Manager.

Having said that, i tried it today with the latest version of ECU Manager, v1.02.0, available on the Haltech website, but the software tells me i need an updated version when i tried it, i have since reported this to Haltech. What i ended up doing was use Early Release 4 to import the map, make it a Platinum map then use Early Release 6 to set it up, since that was the firmware my Sport2000 had in it, not the latest v1.02.0

You beat me to it.

I just spoke with Eric and he said there is a bug they're working on. Once fixed it will allow direct importation of the E8/11 maps. The original bug in the 1.01 software wouldn't allow you to import E8 maps but it would allow E11. When they tried to fix that in 1.02 it screwed everything up.

Claudio, try first loading a Pro map (350Z or GTR) and then importing an E8/11 map. Worked for me. Just wondering if you save it then if you can then use it in a Sport ECU. ??? Should of asked Eric.

The way the process should go is you open up a base map, or a previously configured map, hit the import feature, find the .MAP (e8/E11) file, select all that you want to import (kinda like the old E6X import option for K maps), and it should then bring all that you selected to the map you currently have opened. Then you save it under ECU Manager as a hsx.1xx file then you can load it up onto your Sport unit. I dont know yet what will the procedure be for 1000 boxes, since we still dont have any yet, only 2000's.

We'll keep y'all informed.
